No place for Charlie Chaplin on Karnataka beach
Hindu activists allegedly objected to a statue being put up of Charlie Chaplin in Udupi - the reason - it was too close to a temple and would hurt Hindu feelings.
A 67-feet world's tallest statue of Charlie Chaplin was supposed to be installed near this scenic Maravanthe beach by a film director for his film shooting. The filmmaker wanted to leave it as a permanent tourist attraction. However, the local self-proclaimed Hindu activists have literally thrown mud on the plan.
Aamir turns 44, still looks young
Aamir Khan may not look a day over 34 but the actor celebrated his 44th birthday on March 14 with media at his house in Bandra, Mumbai.
On this occasion Aamir who was recently declared as the most powerful man in the film industry by a leading film magazine reiterated that he was not in the numbers game.
“I have never bothered about numbers. I look for excellence and not success,” says Aamir.
The last year has been especially successful for Aamir. He made his debut as a successful director with Taare Zameen Par and went on to have another big hit as producer with Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na and finally gave Bollywood its biggest money spinner till date - Ghajini.

A senior party leader said “Jai Ho” showcased what the Congress represented to the people of India. The song represented hope and possibility in the film based on a rags-to-riches story and the Congress-led government rekindled hope in the multitudes, he said.
