Freida Pinto moving to NY

Freida, 24, believes NY has a lot in common with Mumbai. She said, “In a way it’s very similar to Mumbai except that it’s more organised. I was walking down Fifth Avenue recently and I realised that everyone is walking in one direction and totally focused on what they’re doing. I remember it being 5 am and I could hear the honking cars and I thought, ‘I feel like I’m in Mumbai!’” Freida is confident she can be a success in Hollywood
, despite the low number of Indian actors who have made it big there. She added, “I’m not worried about not doing well. I feel a film like Slumdog... has really showcased my acting talents. Because I’m not always seen in my best light in the film — I have a scar on my face and a black-eye — it de-glamorises the character. Hopefully it will do great things for my career so people don’t just see me as a beautiful model.”
